In late 2025, we launched Big Penny Community, a Community Interest Company (CIC), to support grassroots projects for our neighbours in Higham Hill Ward. It’s our way of giving back to the community that makes us what we are.

Big Penny Social is built on a model of hospitality rooted in community. Through Big Penny Community, we are intentionally bringing more local people together in the venue to share food, learn new skills, and build friendships.

We open our doors wide, working with local organisations, community champions and grassroots projects to support events and initiatives that promote togetherness, wellbeing and joy. 

Then, in May 2026, we introduced The Big Penny: 2p from every item sold goes directly to the fund the CIC. 1p from our customers and 1p from us. It may be small change, but it quickly adds up, helping us support more people and projects. By being our customer, you’re part of that impact.

Through our CIC, we’re helping tackle isolation, food poverty, and limited access to opportunities. From food co-ops to youth initiatives and creative workshops, we’re proud of what’s already happening—and excited for what’s next.
