Kinks and Connection: A Scientific Guide to Sex and Relationships
With Dr. Ashley Brown

Summary
This is a research-informed guide to how sexual desire, kink, and relationships actually work. We'll be de-bunking many pop psychology myths along the way as we discuss desire, arousal, and practical tips to improve your relationships.

First we'll explore what sex really is, how it works, and how we develop kinks of all kinds. Next we'll explore the contexts that shape intimacy, like stress, health, and relationship dynamics. Finally, we move from theory to practical, evidence-based sex and relationship tools: how conflict patterns escalate, what active listening looks like, and how to negotiate boundaries in ways that reduce defensiveness and improve closeness. The takeaway is a shift from "kink vs vanilla sex" and "good vs bad relationships" toward wellbeing outcomes: connection, pleasure, and effective communication.
