Ederlezi | Hıdırellez | Đurđevdan: Exploring Culture Through Spring Rituals

Join us for a unique and immersive evening celebrating the arrival of spring through the rich cultural traditions of the Balkans and parts of Turkey. Observed each year on May 6th, these seasonal festivals honour renewal, nature, and new beginnings, blending ancient folk practices with meaningful reflection for modern life.

The evening will open with a short cultural talk by Balkanism founder Arbër Qerka-Gashi, offering insight into the history and significance of these spring rituals. This will be followed by a hands-on workshop using natural elements, inviting participants to engage with traditional practices in a grounded and creative way.

Emel Sevinç, founder of Mel Scribbles, will then lead a guided journaling session designed to help you reflect, set intentions, and align with the energy of the coming spring and summer months.
Whether you come to learn, reflect, or connect, this gathering offers a welcoming space to slow down and embrace the rhythms of the season.

Optional: Wear something red, bring a red pen, bring a meaningful item to connect with the spirit of the rituals.

Come as you are, and step into spring with us
