WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking an exceptional Sales & Events Manager to join our team and drive the private hire side of the business. Your role will involve identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with clients, and helping position Big Penny Social as the go-to venue for events in London and the surrounding area. If you’re an enthusiastic, creative, and results-driven professional with a passion for hospitality and events, we want to hear from you.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Sales & Revenue Generation

  • Inbound lead qualification and conversion
  • Develop and present customised proposals that effectively showcase Big Penny Social's offering and align with client and guest requirements
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through 
  • Achieve and exceed established monthly and quarterly revenue targets

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the dedicated point of contact throughout the entire guest journey: 
    • Initial enquiry handling
    • Proposal development
    • Contract negotiation
    • Event planning
    • Post-event follow-up
  • Establish and nurture strong client relationships to drive repeat business and secure referrals

Event Coordination and Team Collaboration

  • Orchestrate seamless event execution through effective collaboration with: 
    • Operations team
    • Creative team
    • Culinary team
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner closely with the Head of Sales to develop strategic sales initiatives and implement sales processes.
  • CRM Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM, including client details, proposals, communications, and event information.
  • Maintain detailed documentation in the CRM system, including: 
    • Client files
    • Proposals
    • Communications
    • Event details
    • Follow-up actions

Reporting and Performance Management

  • Sales Metrics: Track and report on sales activities, pipeline development, revenue performance, and client feedback.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Stay informed on market trends and competitor activities.
  • Strategic Input: Participate in regular sales meetings and contribute to goal-setting and strategy development for the sales team.

DESIRED BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE  

  • At least 3+ years in sales and events management or a similar role in hospitality or venue management.
  • Experience of problem solving and working in a unique venue or location.
  • Venue Knowledge: Demonstrable understanding of the local venue market, key venue finding agents, and the broader hospitality and events landscape in London.
  • Multifaceted Passion: A passion for food, beverage, and creating exceptional event experiences. Ability to work with clients on all levels and with all areas of the business.

  • Great cross-functional working skills with the ability to think on your feet with analytical thinking.
  • Results driven – a positive, proactive and proven achiever.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills –friendly, humble, creative and confident.

THE PACKAGE
A competitive package is on offer for the right candidate with a pro-rated benefits of an annual salary of up to £37,000 dependant on experience plus pension contributions as well as a discretionary annual bonus, 20 days holiday (plus the usual bank holidays), flexible working, enhanced parental leave and a wide variety of diverse community events you can get involved with every day.

WORKING HOURS  
You’ll work 45 hours, over 5 days, Monday to Sunday. Hybrid working will come into play post passing probationary period. Any hours worked outside regular hours will be given back in Time of in Lieu.
