BOH SUPERVISOR

Their primary role is to ensure that the dining experience is smooth, pleasant, and meets the Big Penny standards. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Back of House Supervisor to join our team at Big Penny Social. In this role, you will be responsible for driving guest experience through the successful management of the bars and back of house areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

  • Key Holding and opening and support closing of venue following company procedures and security protocols.
    Ensuring set-up/close and service is to the highest standards, enable staff members to serve efficiently.
  • Ensure all checklists are completed on Trail and actions noted if needed.
  • Make sure floor lay out change over during the shift are looked after and or communicated to the night shift where needed.
  • Ensure Bar specs and standards are in place through support in training.
  • Ensure cellar management is always followed.
  • Support AGM and BOH manager in FOH training where needed.
  • Monitor there are at any given time the appropriate number BOH team members available, moving team around venue where needed.
  • The venue overall running smoothly and looking clean and tidy.
  • Bars fully stocked and prepped.
  • Keeping staff morale high.

  • Delivering excellent guest experience each time you have an interaction.
  • Maximise sales by ensuring the venue is always consistently well-stocked with inventory.
  • Having a presence behind the bar or on the floor throughout the day to identify or solve issues. 
  • Achieving and maintaining high standards within your team.
  • Excellent preparation, organisation and communication internally and externally.
     

EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCES

  • Prior experience in a senior Host role and a large service venue.
  • Good teamwork skills and ability to motivate others.
  • Fantastic service skills
  • Results driven.
  • A drive to lead & manage people effectively to foster motivation and achievement of  results.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Proactive with lots of initiative.
  • A positive attitude.

Flexible hours across a seven-day period. Due to requirements of this role shifts are more often Wednesday – Sunday.  The role will require to cover hours outside of the standard on an ad-hoc basis.
