Reports to the Bar Supervisor 
Big Penny Social is a beer hall and event space in Blackhorse Lane near Walthamstow which showcases the best local beer, food and creators.

We are a high-volume venue open 7 days a week as a bar and workspace alongside hosting a range of weekly events including live music, sports and cinema nights. 

The Role 
You will be responsible for ensuring smooth service and excellent customer experience. We are looking for someone highly organised who thrives on logistics and has a passion for food and drink service.  

On-shift supervising of bar staff to ensure smooth running of service. Set up of bar stations and bar areas. Key holding and opening of the venue when needed.


  • Helping to manage the bar team, and ensuring that everything is running smoothly in the glass wash room and that the bars are stocked 
  • Key holding and opening of venue following company procedures and security protocols 
  • Ensuring set up/close down and service is to the highest standard, enabling staff members to serve efficiently and deliver great customer service 
  • Ensuring all checklists are completed on a daily basis 
    Managing staff on shift  
  • Responsible for venue cleanliness whilst on shift 
    Managing refunds and menu updates on EPOS system when necessary 
  • Writing handover notes at the end of each shift for next Shift Manager 
  • Participate in quarterly review with Bar Manager to review performance and procedures personally, of team and feedback on ways of working
